Alex launched Talkworks Training and Development Ltd. in April 2013
after honing his leadership and management skills and abilities over
25 years in the private, public and third sectors.
He has both the commercial insight and an understanding of the people
aspects of running a business which enable him to add value to the
organisations with whom he works.
Alex has a passion for personal
and professional development,
and is always seeking new and innovative ideas and solutions, looking
for the applied and practical ‘what works’ approach.
In 2011, he was appointed Head
of Coaching and Mentoring
for the Welsh Government and Lead Trainer for Change
His qualifications include a
Master’s Degree in Economics and Applied Social Studies, Post Graduate
Diplomas in Applied Social Studies and Social Work. He is currently
studying Workplace Mentoring at Master’s Degree level.
Alex is a qualified and
experienced coach, facilitator, chairperson, mediator and trainer.
Since 2001, he has been a visiting lecturer at Swansea University on
undergraduate and post-graduate Social Work programmes and is a
qualified, registered and practising Social Worker.
In recent years, he has
developed and delivered training courses across England and Wales for
Government departments, Universities and charitable organisations. He
has also found the time to successfully complete the inaugural Welsh
Assembly Government three year leadership programme and served as an
Organisational Development Advisor with Voluntary Services Overseas in

coastal walking, playing his guitar in a band and motorcycle touring.
